ST. CLARE VOCATION RETREAT
Come & See
August 8-11, 2025

August 8th - 11th is our much anticipated Come & See Retreat for young women from the ages of 18 to 29 who wonder about a life totally poured out for the love for Jesus in the Holy Eucharist following in the footsteps of St. Francis & St. Clare. We invite your open, courageous heart to dare to discern a possible call to a life belonging totally to Christ and building up of our holy Mother the Church.
These days at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery give Catholic young women a taste of the PCPA life and a chance to live for a few days with Our Eucharistic Lord. Our St. Clare Retreat wing allows our discerners to live right next to the Monastery.

On the retreat you will have the opportunity to:
- pray the Divine Office
- attend Mass
- meet with the Vocation Directress
- seek spiritual direction in confession
- Have fellowship with your companion discerners, silent prayer and time to enjoy the outdoors
- Experience the St. Clare Triduum, a special benediction service in honor of this courageous spouse of Christ

What Women are saying about the Saint Clare Retreat!

"I have been blessed to have attended not only one, but two Saint Clare Retreats. The Saint Clare Retreat is a wonderful opportunity for young women to grow in their faith as well as get a glimpse at the contemplative vocation. During my time on the Saint Clare Retreat, I can say with great joy, that my prayer life deepened, my love for Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament grew, and I met other young women, whom I continue to keep in contact with.
The structure of the retreat is very balanced and comfortable. The retreatants are able to participate in the PCPA prayer life and Mass times as well as enjoy periods of "free time” throughout the day. I particularly enjoyed the conference talks we would have with some of the sisters or priests. These talks offered retreatants the opportunity to learn more about the PCPA’s and ask questions. The welcoming, comfortable environment established by the sisters and those involved in the retreat’s success is perhaps the most significant aspect of the Saint Clare Retreat. This environment allows for any young woman who may be considering discernment to a religious vocation to proceed without fear or pressure. “Discernment” can be an intimidating word (I know it was for me) but retreats like the Saint Clare Retreat can give a young woman the confidence, faith, and support needed to go bravely forward."

"My experience of the Saint Clare Retreat was truly a time of grace and a great introduction to the history and culture surrounding the Shrine and the Monastery. Between the care and solicitude of the Sisters and the Shrine employees, the daily experience of the Mass and the Divine Office, and the fellowship of the other young women who are truly seeking to love God with all their hearts, the retreat provides an ideal atmosphere for a young woman to make her first steps in her discernment with the community as well as ample exposure to the workings of grace and the inspiration and edification of the Sisters and the other retreatants.
The retreat is centered on Our Lord’s Presence in the Holy Eucharist and on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Retreatants also get to experience a modified form of the daily schedule of the nuns, with the chanting of the Divine Office, presentations on the monastic, clarian way of life in the parlors, and meals in common with the other retreatants. There is also ample time for Eucharistic Adoration and prayer and for exploring the many grace-filled and beautiful nooks and crannies of the Shrine."
